You always said “go try a bunch of shit to see what you want to do” why are so many people scared to do this?

A.) First he said the movie was beautiful; then he said it was ugly. Are you telling me that his though process went like this?:

– Hey, this movie is beautiful!
– Wait, this movie didn’t do very well.
– Hmm…upon closer inspection, I now see that this movie is NOT in fact beautiful, but very, very ugly; how silly of me to have missed this the first time around.

So Tucker claims to be a serious artist, yet his opinion of his own film’s aesthetic is based on its box-office performance?

B) Did you read the quotes I posted? Tucker GUSHED about what a great director and friend Gosse was to him… GUSHED about it. Now, Gosse is apparently a two-faced liar who hosed Tucker over by doing a terrible job directing the movie. It’s not like we’re talking about a situation where Tucker gained additional information that exposed Gosse- he’s talking about the movie Gosse directed, which he had access to from jump street. Max is either terminally naive or he’s being disingenuous.

C) Tucker’s not nearly so successful as you seem to think he is. All you have to do is read between the lines to ascertain this.

D) I agree that Tucker and I are nothing alike (thank God), but I’m amused that you think you know what I’m like, since I’ve revealed nothing about myself in any of my comments, apart from my impatience with manipulative dishonesty and my ability to rationally deconstruct easily-detectable duplicity.

There’s a lot more to life than black and white opinions. I highly doubt Tucker went from loving Gosse completely to hating his guts. He EXPLICITLY said in this interview that he thought the movie was amazing and would do very well so then he had to think very long and hard about how and why it failed. Opinions change all the time, and I guarantee you there have been many times in your life that you thought something without a doubt and a year later had almost the opposite view.

Honestly, though, it amuses me you seem so bitter about the fact that such a liar and a hypocrite is so successful, when Tucker pretty much says in this interview that he is successful because he is nothing like you.

So do it. What’s stopping you?
